With the help of this seed phrase, anyone can easily access or use your wallet on any other device. Along with this, they can gain complete control over all the crypto assets in the wallet. In simple terms, the seed phrase is not just a password for your wallet, but it is the sole key to the ownership of your entire crypto assets. If you forget your password, you can get your wallet back through the seed phrase. But if someone steals your seed phrase, there is a possibility that all your money will be lost forever. Therefore, its security is extremely essential.
🔴 How Fraudsters Make Ordinary People Their Victims
Cyber fraudsters operate this scheme very cleverly. They often contact customers by identifying themselves as employees of a crypto exchange, wallet service, or security team. They claim that a serious security issue has arisen in your crypto wallet. Sometimes they even say that your account is in danger. Hearing such things, ordinary people usually get scared. Taking advantage of this, the fraudsters send a link to a fake website via phone or message, or instruct them to download a fake application and enter the seed phrase there. The moment people enter their seed phrase on that fake link to save their wallet, the fraudsters instantly gain complete control of the wallet.
🔴 How the Wallet Gets Emptied Within Seconds
As soon as the seed phrase falls into their hands, the fraudsters recover your wallet on their device. After this, without wasting any time, they transfer all your crypto assets to some other unknown wallet. Since the entire system of cryptocurrency is based on blockchain technology and most transactions here are irreversible, meaning they cannot be reversed, it becomes almost impossible to get the money back once it is transferred. Since there is no bank or central authority, you cannot go to anyone and request to cancel this transaction. The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre, i.e., Cyber Dost, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has warned the general public and provided important information about this dangerous scheme. According to the advice of Cyber Dost, people using crypto wallets should always keep the following things in mind:
◽ No genuine crypto app or wallet service will ever ask you for your seed phrase or recovery code.
◽ Never panic on seeing scary messages like security alerts, wallet verification, or account suspension, and do not hastily share any personal information.
◽ Never click on any unknown links or suspicious websites coming in messages, WhatsApp, or emails.
◽ Never share your seed phrase with any person, website, application, or even in an online chat. Always write it down on a piece of paper and hide it in a safe place.
🔴 What to Do If You Fall Victim to Cyber Fraud?
If you ever accidentally fall victim to such a crypto scheme, do not despair and take immediate action. First, without any delay, call the government's cyber crime helpline number 1930 and inform them about the entire incident. Along with this, immediately file your complaint on the Government of India's National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. Reporting quickly helps the police and cyber agencies take appropriate action, and there is hope to catch the criminals. Remember that in the digital world, caution is your biggest protective shield.

🔴 धोखेबाज सामान्य लोगों को कैसे अपना शिकार बनाते हैं
साइबर धोखेबाज बहुत चतुराई से इस स्कैम को अंजाम देते हैं। वे अक्सर खुद को किसी क्रिप्टो एक्सचेंज, वॉलेट सर्विस या सुरक्षा दल का कर्मचारी बताकर ग्राहकों से संपर्क करते हैं। वे दावा करते हैं कि आपके क्रिप्टो वॉलेट में कोई गंभीर सुरक्षा समस्या आ गई है। कभी-कभी वे यह भी कहते हैं कि आपका खाता खतरे में है। ऐसी बातें सुनकर सामान्य लोग आमतौर पर डर जाते हैं। इसका फायदा उठाकर धोखेबाज फोन या मैसेज के जरिए किसी नकली वेबसाइट का लिंक भेजते हैं या किसी नकली एप्लिकेशन को डाउनलोड करके उसमें सीड फ्रेज लिखने का निर्देश देते हैं। जैसे ही लोग अपना वॉलेट बचाने के लिए उस नकली लिंक पर सीड फ्रेज दर्ज करते हैं, तुरंत धोखेबाजों के हाथ में वॉलेट का पूर्ण नियंत्रण चला जाता है।
🔴 कुछ ही सेकंडों के भीतर कैसे खाली हो जाता है वॉलेट
सीड फ्रेज हाथ लगते ही धोखेबाज अपने डिवाइस पर आपके वॉलेट को रिकवर कर लेते हैं। इसके बाद वे बिना कोई समय बर्बाद किए आपकी सभी क्रिप्टो संपत्तियों को किसी अन्य अज्ञात वॉलेट में स्थानांतरित कर देते हैं। चूंकि क्रिप्टोकरेंसी की पूरी प्रणाली ब्लॉकचेन तकनीक पर आधारित है और इसमें होने वाले ज्यादातर लेनदेन इरिवर्सिबल (अर्थात जिन्हें वापस नहीं लाया जा सकता) होते हैं, इसलिए एक बार धन स्थानांतरित होने के बाद उस धन को वापस पाना लगभग असंभव हो जाता है। कोई बैंक या केंद्रीय प्राधिकरण न होने के कारण आप किसी के पास जाकर इस लेनदेन को रद्द करने का अनुरोध नहीं कर सकते। परिणामस्वरूप, कुछ ही पलों में एक व्यक्ति की जीवन भर की कमाई पूरी तरह नष्ट हो सकती है।
🔴 इस भयानक साइबर धोखाधड़ी से खुद को कैसे सुरक्षित रखें
भारत सरकार के गृह मंत्रालय के अंतर्गत आने वाला इंडियन साइबर क्राइम कोऑर्डिनेशन सेंटर यानी 'साइबर दोस्त' ने आम जनता को आगाह करते हुए इस खतरनाक स्कैम के बारे में महत्वपूर्ण जानकारी दी है। साइबर दोस्त की सलाह के अनुसार क्रिप्टो वॉलेट का उपयोग करने वाले लोगों को हमेशा निम्नलिखित बातों का ध्यान रखना चाहिए:
◽ कोई भी असली क्रिप्टो ऐप या वॉलेट सर्विस कभी भी आपसे आपका सीड फ्रेज या रिकवरी कोड नहीं मांगेगी।
◽ सिक्योरिटी अलर्ट, वॉलेट सत्यापन या खाता निलंबित होने जैसे डरावने संदेश देखकर कभी भी घबराएं नहीं और जल्दबाजी में कोई भी व्यक्तिगत जानकारी साझा न करें।
◽ मैसेज, व्हाट्सएप या ईमेल में आने वाले किसी भी अज्ञात लिंक या संदिग्ध वेबसाइट पर कभी भी क्लिक न करें।
◽ अपना सीड फ्रेज कभी भी किसी व्यक्ति, वेबसाइट, एप्लिकेशन या यहां तक कि ऑनलाइन चैट में भी साझा न करें। इसे हमेशा एक कागज पर लिखकर किसी सुरक्षित स्थान पर छिपा कर रखें।
🔴 साइबर धोखाधड़ी का शिकार होने पर क्या करें?
यदि आप कभी गलती से किसी ऐसे क्रिप्टो स्कैम का शिकार हो जाते हैं, तो निराश न हों और तुरंत कदम उठाएं। सबसे पहले, बिना कोई देरी किए सरकारी साइबर क्राइम हेल्पलाइन नंबर 1930 पर कॉल करें और पूरी घटना के बारे में अवगत कराएं। इसके साथ ही, भारत सरकार के नेशनल साइबर क्राइम रिपोर्टिंग पोर्टल पर तुरंत अपनी शिकायत दर्ज करें। त्वरित रूप से रिपोर्ट करने पर पुलिस और साइबर एजेंसियां उचित कदम उठाने में सुविधा होती है और अपराधियों को पकड़ने की आशा रहती है। याद रखें कि डिजिटल दुनिया में सावधानी ही आपकी सबसे बड़ी सुरक्षा कवच है।
