महाराष्ट्र के पालघर जिले से एक ऐसी घटना सामने आई है जिसने न केवल मानवता को शर्मसार किया है, बल्कि धर्म और आस्था के नाम पर चल रहे गोरखधंधे की पोल खोल दी है। ४० वर्षीय ऋषिकेश वैद्य नाम के एक व्यक्ति पर एक ३५ वर्षीय महिला के साथ बलात्कार और ब्लैकमेलिंग का गंभीर आरोप लगा है। यह मामला तब प्रकाश में आया जब हाल ही में नासिक में अशोक खरात नाम के एक अन्य फर्जी धर्मगुरु की गिरफ्तारी हुई, जिससे पीड़ित महिला को हिम्मत मिली और उसने पुलिस का दरवाजा खटखटाया।

पुलिस रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, पुणे की रहने वाली इस महिला की मुलाकात ऋषिकेश वैद्य से २०२३ में फेसबुक के माध्यम से हुई थी। ऋषिकेश ने खुद को एक आध्यात्मिक गुरु के रूप में पेश किया और धीरे-धीरे महिला का विश्वास जीत लिया। दिसंबर २०२३ में वह महिला से मिलने पुणे आया। यहाँ उसने अपनी बातों के जाल में फँसाकर महिला को यह विश्वास दिलाया कि वह स्वयं भगवान शिव का अवतार है और वह महिला उसकी 'पार्वती' है। इस आध्यात्मिक प्रपंच का सहारा लेकर वह महिला को पुणे के मांजरी इलाके के एक लॉज में ले गया।
वहाँ आरोपी ने महिला को किसी नशीले पदार्थ का सेवन कराया, जिससे वह अचेतन अवस्था में चली गई। इसी का फायदा उठाकर ऋषिकेश ने उसके साथ बलात्कार किया। इतना ही नहीं, उसने चुपके से महिला की कुछ आपत्तिजनक तस्वीरें और वीडियो भी बना लिए। होश में आने पर जब महिला को सच्चाई का पता चला, तो आरोपी ने उन तस्वीरों के जरिए उसे बदनाम करने की धमकी दी और ब्लैकमेल करना शुरू कर दिया। बताया जा रहा है कि पिछले साल मई में उसने महिला को पालघर के वसई इलाके के एक होटल में बुलाकर दोबारा शारीरिक शोषण करने की कोशिश की थी।

ऋषिकेश वैद्य पालघर में एक सामाजिक संस्था भी चलाता था। सफेदपोश अपराधी बनकर वह समाज में अपनी पैठ बना चुका था। सवाल यह उठता है कि आखिर क्यों ये तथाकथित धर्मगुरु यौन शोषण के रास्तों को चुनते हैं? मनोवैज्ञानिकों के अनुसार, ऐसे लोग सत्ता और वर्चस्व की भूखी मानसिकता वाले होते हैं। वे जानते हैं कि भारत जैसे देश में धर्म एक संवेदनशील विषय है। जब वे खुद को भगवान का रूप घोषित कर देते हैं, तो भक्त उनके सामने पूरी तरह समर्पित हो जाते हैं। इसी समर्पण का फायदा उठाकर ये अपराधी अपनी वासना को शांत करते हैं।
ज्यादातर मामलों में देखा गया है कि इन ढोंगियों का एकमात्र लक्ष्य पैसा, शोहरत और शारीरिक सुख होता है। वे महिलाओं की भावनाओं और उनकी परेशानियों का फायदा उठाते हैं। जब तक समाज में अंधविश्वास और बिना सोचे-समझे किसी को भगवान मानने की प्रवृत्ति रहेगी, तब तक ऐसे ऋषिकेश वैद्य पनपते रहेंगे। धर्म की पवित्रता को कलंकित करने वाले ऐसे कामांध व्यक्तियों को कानून की नजर में कड़ी से कड़ी सजा मिलनी चाहिए ताकि भविष्य में कोई आस्था के नाम पर किसी की अस्मत से खिलवाड़ न कर सके।

The victim, a resident of Pune, connected with the accused via Facebook in 2023. Leveraging the digital platform to build a persona of sanctity, Vaidya gained her trust over several months. In December 2023, he met her in Pune and convinced her through spiritual manipulation that he was an incarnation of Lord Shiva and she was his 'Parvati.' This psychological entrapment led her to a lodge in the Manjari area of Pune.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the accused allegedly administered a sedative-laced drink to the victim. Once she lost consciousness, he committed the heinous act of rape. Adding a layer of digital crime to the physical assault, he captured objectionable photographs of the victim without her consent. These images were later used as tools for blackmail, ensuring the victim’s silence while he continued his attempts to exploit her, including an incident at a hotel in Vasai near Palghar in May the following year.

They use the cloak of spirituality to bypass moral and legal boundaries.
The core reason why these individuals turn into sexual predators is the absolute authority they claim over their victims' minds. By positioning themselves as divine beings, they create a dynamic where the victim feels that resisting the 'guru' is akin to resisting God. Society must recognize that true spirituality does not involve secrecy, intoxication, or exploitation. The arrest of such criminals, sparked by the bravery of victims coming forward, is a step toward justice. However, a deeper shift is required to dismantle the culture of blind worship that allows these monsters to thrive. Stricter legal actions and social awareness are the only ways to preserve the sanctity of faith and ensure the safety of women.
